Sheffield, UK - 17th January 2025 - The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks announce the signing of Scottie Lindsey for the remainder of the 2024-25 Super League Basketball season.
The 28-year-old shooting guard hails from Oak Park, Illinois, USA and joins the Sharks squad for the remainder of season. Lindsey attended Northwestern University between 2014 and 2018, averaging 15.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game during his senior year.
After his collegiate career, Scottie played several seasons in the NBA G League, most recently with the Windy City Bulls and Maine Celtics. Across Lindsey’s G League career of 121 games, he averaged 10.4ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.3apg. Lindsey’s last club was the Winnipeg Sea Bears of the CEBL where he averaged 13.5 points, 4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He also has career experience in the Portuguese LPB and the NBA Summer League.
Scottie is looking forward to joining the team in Sheffield, “I’m excited to get started with the Sharks. I have heard really positive things about the organisation. The team have had a good start to the season and I’m looking forward to joining up with the squad and helping us succeed”.
Sharks Head Coach Atiba Lyons spoke of his excitement with the signing of Lindsey, stating “I’m happy to have a player of Scottie’s ability join us at this time of the season. We have had some unfortunate injuries recently and Scottie will help us continue to push on for the remainder of the season. He has great experience, I’m excited to see this translate into the British game”.
Scottie is currently with the team on the road at the Surrey 89ers with the hope clearance will be obtained prior to tip-off. Otherwise, Scottie will make his Sharks debut on Friday 24th January against the Cheshire Phoenix at the Canon Medical Arena.
