Alternative Provision
Placements for secondary age students, working alongside professional players.
Based at the brand-new Canon Medical Arena we offer young people a chance to work with some of our professional players as they have an opportunity to study for accreditation in sports, enterprise, media, employability and healthy lifestyles through the AQA award unit scheme.
Morning sessions involve classroom based activities, including enterprise, lifestyle, creative and media based tasks. We try to offer 'real' work, related and work based activities where students are given opportunities to work on projects which have a tangible outcome, including researching, designing, producing, promoting, and selling a range of merchandise at a Sharks game.
The afternoon sessions offer a chance to engage with a range of coach sporting activities, including basketball - delivered by professionals in our state of the art facility!
For further information or to enquire about placing a student with the Sharks please we liaise with your Alternative Provision contact at Sheffield Council’s Progressions Team.
We look forward to working to support your students.
