Sheffield, UK - 9th August, 2024 - The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks announce the signing of Drake Jeffries for the 2024-25 Super League Basketball season.
The 25-year-old 6’5” shooting guard joins the Sharks for the 2024-25 season, having last played for the Raptors 905 in the NBA G League. The Mattoon, Illinois native graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2022, and then made the move into the NBA G League with the Osceola Magic for 2022-23, before joining the Raptors 905 in 2023-24. Last season, Jeffries averaged 5.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game with the Raptors outfit in the G League. In Drake’s senior year in NCAA D1 with Wyoming in the 2021-22 season, he averaged 10.3 points along with 5.4 rebounds per game.
Drake is looking forward to joining the Sharks for 2024-25, “I’m really excited to sign in Sheffield this season. I had a very positive conversation with Coach Lyons and I really liked what he had to say about the ambitions and aims for the season, and I was sure I wanted to be a part of that. I feel like I’m an exciting player and hope the fans will enjoy watching me play for their team. Coach showed me the facilities and the gameday environment at the Canon Medical Arena and I’m really excited by it. I can’t wait to get started”.
Sharks Head Coach Atiba Lyons expressed his excitement with the addition of Jeffries this season, stating “Drake is a very quick, exciting shooting guard and was somebody we really liked the look of. We were very happy when Drake saw the visions we have as a club and bought into that. I’m sure the fans will enjoy watching his game and I think Drake will get them out of their seats! He has great experience in the G League which demonstrates his level of ability, so I’m excited to bring him in for this new season”.
