Sheffield Sharks Sign Donovan Clay

Sheffield, UK - 1st November, 2024 - The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks announce the signing of Donovan Clay for the remainder of the 2024-25 Super League Basketball season. 

The 23-year-old 6’8” joins the Sharks for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, having started this season with Greek team Aris Midea Thessaloniki. Due to league import restrictions, Donovan played for Aris in Eurocup competition only. Clay graduated from Missouri State in NCAA Division 1 in 2023-24, averaging 12.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. He also attended Valparaiso to begin his college career between 2019 and 2021.  

Donovan is looking forward to joining up with the Sharks for 2024-25, “I’m really looking forward to joining the Sharks for the rest of the season. Everything I have heard about the organisation and the team has been very positive and I’m excited to arrive and get started. I hope I can contribute to a strong locker room there already in Sheffield and have an impactful season”.

Sharks Head Coach Atiba Lyons expressed his excitement with the addition of Clay, stating “Donovan is a good quality player and one I’m excited we can add to the team for the remainder of the season. I’m sure he will fit in well with the team and be a valuable addition for us”.


The club staff are hopeful to have the relevant paperwork and documents completed in order for Donovan to play in tonight’s SLB Championship opener against the London Lions at the Copper Box Arena.
