The 33-year-old experienced forward, hailing from Texas, USA, joins the Sharks for the 2026-27 campaign. Onwas last played for the Falkirk Fury in 2025-26, but will be familiar to Sharks fans for his stint with the Caledonia Gladiators, who he represented 3 seasons in both domestic and European competition. Prince helped bring silverware to the Gladiators as they won the 2022-23 Trophy at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow. Prior to his spell in Scotland, Prince also played in Germany and Spain.
Prince is looking forward to joining the Sharks for 2026-27, “I’m very happy to have signed in Sheffield for the 2026-27 season. Having played against the Sharks for a number of years, I know how Coach Lyons likes his teams to play and I’m excited to be a part of that this season.”
Sharks Head Coach Atiba Lyons stated “Prince is a great team player who will be able to help us across the season. He knows the league well and I’m sure he will be a reliable part of our roster for the upcoming season. It’s unfortunate that our preparation for the season has been minimal due to several injuries, two of which are to key players and ongoing, though we are confident when we get to full fitness we will compete with the best”
We can confirm that Tevin Brewer has departed the team and we wish him well in his future endeavours. Donovan Clay and Dan Gherezgher continue to progress through their respective rehab programmes after injuries sustained in pre-season preparations. The search continues for a replacement point guard which we hope to announce in the near future.
