Super League Basketball Championship

The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks take the high road to Scotland on Friday evening to encounter the Caledonia Gladiators. The Sharks hold a 1-0 series lead in league play so far this season but the Gladiators did beat their visitors in pre-season. The Sharks head into the game after a solid but short-handed win over Bristol Flyers on Sunday and Caledonia claimed victory over Manchester Basketball, the side that defeated the Sharks on Halloween. Bonfire Night will have just passed but will there be an explosive night in East Kilbride? Tune in to find out!

Ones To Watch

Kevin Allen – Huge presence at Centre, where he is pouring in 20.9 points and pulling down 7 rebounds for the season. Went 9 and 9 against Manchester on Sunday and has already had a big night against the Sharks back in October.

Rian Holland – Lively guard who put up an impressive 14 point, 10 rebound double-double in the Manchester victory. Also weighed in with 2 assists and 3 steals as the Glads took the win by 74-62.

Matthew Ragsdale – Impressive shooting stats from the guard who comes from the bench for Caledonia. Top scored with 26 against Manchester making 6 of 14 attempts from beyond the arc and 4 of 5 inside for a very productive afternoon.

Ethan Wright – The former Leicester Rider put up a very mature display as the Gladiators scythed down Manchester. His 14 points included 4 makes from three point territory as well as 6 rebounds, 7 assists and a couple of steals.

Friday will see the Sharks sixth official visit to Caledonia Gladiators newest home court at Playsport in East Kilbride. The Sharks lost on their first two visits to Playsport on 22nd October 2023 and 11th November 2023 but have won all three subsequent visits on 18th October 2024, 20th April 2025 and 25th April 2025.

The last eight games between the Sharks and Gladiators in South Yorkshire and Scotland combined have seen the Sharks record seven wins. In a total of 91 Championship matches between the teams, the Sharks have recorded 64 wins.

During the Sharks 32 seasons, they have had 16 regular Assistant Coaches working alongside the 4 Head Coaches.
