Bristol Flyers picked up their first win of the season at the expense of the visiting DBL Sharks Sheffield.

Bristol Flyers avenged opening weekend defeat in front of their home fans to pick up their first victory of the season, thanks to a spectacular 92-60 win over the visiting DBL Sharks Sheffield.

After a cagey opening quarter, the hosts found their rhythm to produce some entertaining basketball and give the home fans plenty to cheer about.

Leading scorers – McCloud 21, Thomas 17, Delpeche 15 (Flyers); Williams 17, Alexander 14, Castro-Caneddy 11 (Sharks)

Turning point – A 10-2 run, mid-way through the second quarter – highlighted by a four-point play from Fred Thomas – sparked the home side into action. The Flyers seized the game’s momentum and never gave it up.

Key Stat – The home team connected from beyond the arc with regularity, netting 11 of their 27 three-point attempts. In contrast, the Sharks could only manage two triples.

Game hero(es) – Jalan McCloud set the tone for Bristol, collecting a team-high 21 points and six rebounds. Fred Thomas also impressed, having scored 17 points and added six rebounds and five assists.
