Super League Basketball Championship

Following a highly successful double-winning weekend, the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks are back in the Tank once again this Sunday when Caledonia Gladiators visit the Canon Medical Arena. The two sides have already met in pre-season; Jonny Bunyan’s team coming out victorious by 64-75 against a depleted Sharks roster. The Sharks are getting healthier and stronger as proven by last week’s results – can they take their revenge over the Scots in another thrilling Sunday afternoon encounter? You need to be there to find out!

Ones To Watch

Kevin Allen – Old skool! After a monstrous 27 point, 16 board double-double in Caledonia’s opening game against Newcastle, the Centre posted a 12 point, 5 rebound, 3 assist display as the Gladiators went down in a big shootout against Cheshire last Sunday.

Jet Speelman – Was a Caledonia standout last season and has set off in the same vein this campaign so far. His 18 points in Cheshire came on 60% shooting to show why the forward is not to be slept on.

Matthew Ragsdale – Glads Coach Jonny Bunyan knows all about Guard play and he appears to have picked up an exceptional one in Ragsdale. He led the scoring in Ellesmere Port for 23 points, which included an eye-opening 7 of 10 from deep and a final index of 26.

Ethan Wright – Season 2 in SLB for the former Leicester Rider, who showed his all-round game for 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and a blocked shot against the ‘Nix. Sadly couldn’t prevent Caledonia going down by 108-96 however.

Rodney Glasgow Jr has become just the third Sharks player to captain the team in 4 or more seasons in their 32 years of existence. Only legends Mike Tuck, 10 seasons at the helm, and Todd Cauthorn with 5 have more.
