Donovan returns to the Sharks for the 2026-27 season after previously representing the club during the 2024-25 campaign, when he was named Super League Basketball Cup Final MVP as the Sharks defeated the Surrey 89ers at the Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on 9th March 2025 to claim Sheffield’s most recent title.
Clay spent the 2025-26 season in Japan’s B3 League for Tokyo Hachioji Trains, averaging 13.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists over their 38 game season. During the 2024-25 Super League Basketball season in Sheffield, Donovan averaged 13.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists after joining the club in November 2024 having started that season in Greece with Aris in EuroCup.
