The B Braun Sheffield Sharks have confirmed the return of Rodney Glasgow Jr on a three year deal.
It has also been confirmed that the 6’0 guard from Maryland will also become the Sharks new captain, stepping into the legendary shoes of Mike Tuck.
Glasgow who holds a British passport agreed the deal early in the summer once it was understood that veteran Tuck would be transitioning into a new role as Marketing Manager.
The long-term opportunity would help establish a continuity of management that has augured well for the club since their inception, and would give Glasgow Jr the security to develop his role.
“I am excited to take on this new challenge, having been at the club for a season already. I know exactly what is expected and I know where we want to get to,” said Glasgow Jr. “Picking up the reigns from Mike is an honour and a challenge that I am looking forward to.”
The Sharks have been working hard in the offseason, including the start of their new Arena build but are confident of the future and all that it will hold.
“It is somewhat of a new era for the Sharks and taking the decision to appoint Rodney as Captain seemed ideal. We like his work ethic and his ability to get along with everyone to such a degree that we feel he is the perfect solution for an exciting time ahead,” said Sharks MD Sarah Backovic
It is understood that the final few pieces have been agreed and will be announced shortly by the club.
The Sharks take on the London Lions in the first match of the season Friday, 23rd September in Sheffield at 7:30pm. Tickets are now available! CLICK HERE
