Sheffield, UK - 5th August, 2025 - The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks announce the re-signing of Rodney Chatman III for the 2025-26 Super League Basketball season.

The 26-year-old guard returns to Sheffield after initially joining part-way through last season. Rodney made an instant impact upon signing with the Sharks in 2024-25, fitting into the locker room straight away and averaged 18 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game for the club before his season was ended prematurely by an injury sustained in practice. Chatman III stayed in Sheffield to support the team whilst beginning his recovery, and was with the team to celebrate winning the 2025 Super League Basketball Cup at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham.

Rodney is excited to be re-signing in Sheffield, “I’m very happy to have signed for the 2025-26 season. Although I joined the team partway through the season, I felt very comfortable in the locker room and with the team so it’s great to be back. The fans are fantastic both home and away and I thoroughly enjoy playing in front of you all; it makes a real difference. I feel like I have unfinished business after the injury last season, so I’m looking forward to building on the success we had as a team and aiming for more this season.”

Sharks Head Coach Atiba Lyons stated “I’m very happy that Rodney has re-signed with the team for next season. It’s unfortunate that he picked up the injury in January as he was playing excellently with the team and making a really positive impact. He reads the game very well and I’m sure he will be just as impactful with this roster as he was with the roster last season.”
