Newcomer Channel Banks signs with the Sharks

The B Braun Sharks are very proud to announce the signing of Channel Banks for the upcoming 2022-23 BBL season.

The 24-year-old guard is a product of the University of Akron and has had spells with Tartu Ulikool Rock, in the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League (ELBL) and BK Spisska Rytieri in the Slovakian Extraliga.

The 6’4, Banks, is excited for the opportunity,

“I’m excited to come to Sheffield and experience the British Basketball League. I feel like I have a great opportunity to prove myself with the Sharks. The team has a great history and after speaking with Head Coach Atiba Lyons it felt like the right situation for me.”

Born in from Las Vegas, Nevada, Channel averaged 10.4 points, 3.2 rebounds 4.4 assists during his tenure in the ELBL.

Head Coach Atiba Lyons is looking forward to Bank’s arrival,

“We’re excited to have Channel on board. He is a taller guard that will fit nicely into our system. This will be a big year for him to show what he can really do as a pro. We can’t wait to get started and see what he has to offer.”

Channel Banks joins newly appointed captain Rodney Glasgow Jr, Javion Ogunyemi, Marcus Delpeche, and Nate Montgomery as the fifth signing of the summer.
