The former GB U20 International and Toronto, Canada native returned to the club for the 2019-20 after a hiatus from the BBL. Lewis first joined the Sharks as a 19 year-old and suited up from 2012-15 helping the team win the 2013 BBL Trophy and 2013/14 British Basketball League runners-up. On his return last season he contributed to a runners-up finish at the 2019-20 British Basketball All-Stars Championship.
This past season the 27 year-old guard averaged 15.1 pts (BBL career high), 4.4 reb, 2.2 ast, 1.8 (tied for 2nd in steals in the BBL). Lewis was also 3rd in the BBL Championship in 3 pointers made with 33. On 10th November Lewis had a season high of 29 points v Leicester Riders, adding to his notable performances was hitting 19pts in a quarter, including 5 x 3 pointers, at Cheshire on 27th Oct.
“We all felt like last season was robbed from us due to the virus, so I’m looking forward to coming back and building off of last season. Silverware is always the goal.”
Head Coach Atiba Lyons is happy to see Lewis back in the blue and gold.
“Nick’s the type of guy that plays with a chip on his shoulder and can bring it on both ends of the floor. His outside shooting but also his pace, stability, and decision making over the last season was impressive. The continuity of the team, so far, will really help us hits the ground running once the season starts.”
