The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks are proud to announce a new partnership with Cook Expert Consulting, founded by former Sharks player, and 2009-10 British Basketball League MVP, Mike Cook. The collaboration marks a special moment for the club, as a former player returns to invest in the next generation both on and off the court.
Through this partnership, Cook Expert Consulting becomes an Away Shirt Sponsor for the 2025–2026 Super League Basketball season, with its logo featured on the official away jersey of Rodney Glasgow Jr.
Cook Expert Consulting, led by Mike Cook, provides educational consulting and mentoring for students seeking private school admissions, academic guidance, and athletic recruitment support. With a strong background in both education and professional basketball, Cook brings a unique understanding of how mentorship and opportunity can shape young lives.
“It’s always special when a former player returns to support the club in a meaningful way,” said Sarah Backovic, Chief Executive Officer of the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks. “Mike was a talented and dedicated player during his time with us, and it’s fantastic to see him channel that same passion into helping students achieve their goals. We’re thrilled to have him and Cook Expert Consulting back as part of the Sharks family.”
Cook, who starred for the Sharks during his professional career before transitioning into education, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership:
“This partnership is deeply personal. Sheffield and the Sharks organisation gave me an incredible opportunity early in my professional career, and it feels good to be able to give back in a meaningful way. I’m grateful to reconnect with a club and a city that shaped so much of who I am, both on and off the court. It is also an honour to have my company's name on the back of such a respected player in person in Rodney. While this partnership begins as a way to show support, I’m hopeful it will also open doors for Cook Expert Consulting to engage more with student-athletes in the U.K. and continue building bridges through sport and education.”
The partnership reflects the club’s commitment to fostering community connections and celebrating the impact of its alumni within and beyond basketball.
