The B Braun Sheffield Sharks are very happy to announce the first commitment of the 2021-22 campaign, long serving Captain Mike Tuck has signed a 1-year contract extension into his 13th season with the Sharks.
The Toronto, Canada native and dual passport holder joined the club way back in 2009 and has won 4 major pieces of silverware with the club including 2 back-to-back BBL Cups (2010,2011), the 2013 BBL Trophy, and the 2016 BBL Playoff Final which he was awarded Most Valuable Player.
The 38-year-old Tuck is excited about the contract and looking forward to seeing the rest of the team form.
“I’m extremely lucky to still be playing the game I love and will always be grateful to the Sharks for providing me with the opportunity. The past two seasons have, by far, been the strangest in my career due to COVID, so I am looking forward to returning to some sort of normality in the upcoming one.”
The search continues in the background as Head Coach Atiba Lyons continues to fill out the rest of the roster.
“Having Tuck back helps build that solid foundation. We have some exciting announcements to make in the coming weeks and can’t wait to get back out there in the upcoming season.”
