SHARKS TO COMMENCE SEASON BACK AT PONDS FORGE
The B Braun Sheffield Sharks are proud to announce that the season will commence this Friday back at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre with a BBL Cup Group stage match versus the London Lions.
The club had originally planned a move to their former home at the English Institute of Sport, prior to the reopening of Ponds Forge but will now remain following a decision from the Sheffield City Trust.
“Ponds Forge is where we first brought the club on its entrance to the BBL over 25 years ago. We are excited to be back in the Tank and continue on the great efforts of last season. Keeping the Sharks at the city centre venue couldn’t have been done without the hard work of Sheffield City Trust, and Sheffield City Council and for that we thank them.”
Says Club Chairman Yuri Matischen.
Ponds Forge was an absolute fortress for the Sharks last season where the Sharks held a home record of 9 wins and 2 loses.
Friday’s match will tip-off at an earlier time of 6pm behind closed doors. The match will be available to watch for FREE via the Sharks YouTube channel.
