Super League Basketball Championship
The schedule eases for the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks after a challenging four games in eight days. Just the one game takes place this weekend as Coach Lyons and his team head south west to take on Bristol Flyers. The Sharks of course defeated the Flyers over two legs to earn their Cup Final place and were also successful at the SGS College Arena at the start of March in the league. Wins over Cheshire and Leicester last week were split by a loss in Surrey as the players pushed themselves to their limits. The focus now switches to the SGS College Arena to see if the Sharks can keep up the pressure on leaders London Lions.
Friday – Flyers v Sharks – SGS College Arena – 7.30pm

Ones To Watch
Alain Louis – The guy who usually kick-starts the Flyers on offence. Bristol had a tough game up at Caledonia but Louis still contributed 10 points with 5 boards on 57% shooting.
Demond Robinson – Imposing forward who isn’t afraid to knock down the 3 point shot. Managed 8 points and 7 rebounds in East Kilbride but couldn’t stop the Flyers falling to a 68-57 defeat.
Evan Walshe – Brit guard whose performances have warranted GB call-ups. Averages 12 / 4 / 3 for the season and put up 10 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists against the Gladiators.
Leslee Smith – Skippering the Flyers this season, the former Shark led the Bristol scoring with 12 points in Scotland on a perfect 4 from 4 behind the arc to go with 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots.

Shark Bites
The Sharks go into their clash with Bristol Flyers having won the previous 5 games between the teams. This is the longest winning streak in the 35 game history between the clubs.
Prior to the current season the last time 2 Sharks players each scored at least 20 points in a game was 8th April 2022 – Antwain Johnson (27) and Bennett Koch (21). In contrast, the current season has seen this happen 8 times already.
This season, the Sharks have scored at least 100 points in 4 games. The last time they managed that was in the 2010-2011 campaign.
The Sharks have never lost on 21st March but oddly in 30 previous seasons, they have only played 3 games – in 1998, 2002 and 2014.
