Ones To Watch

Jordan Johnson – the ex-NBA G Leaguer has already been earmarked as one to watch this season. During the Cup campaign so far he has averaged 19.3 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game and 7.2 assists per game.

Ally Fraser – Returning to the Rocks after one season with Leicester Riders, Fraser led the Rocks scoring with 23 as well as pulling down 13 rebounds in their 92-84 win against a short-handed Newcastle Eagles last Sunday.

John Bunyan – The Rocks skipper also played a vital role in the win over the Eagles. He made five of his six 3 point shots for 17 points overall after Glasgow had suffered a nervy third quarter.

Gareth Murray – the Glasgow playcaller combines his playing role with coaching these days but brings all his knowledge and ability from his Great Britain days. Generally averaging fewer minutes these days, he was still highly effective against Newcastle with 7 rebounds and 3 steals to put the Scots joint top of the North group.

Shark Bites

The last five meetings between the Sharks and the Rocks go 3-2 in the Sharks favour.

The sides have two of the most assist-friendly point guards in the BBL – Aaron Anderson (7.3 per game) shades Jordan Johnson (7.2 per game) by the narrowest of margins.

Jon-Jon Williams 22 points against Manchester Giants on Tuesday night was his fourth 20 point haul in seven competitive appearances for the Sharks.

The Sharks are looking hot off the offensive boards so far this campaign. To date they have pulled down 31 to the Rocks 15 during the BBL Cup Group stage.
