Ones To Watch

Jared Sherfield – The Flyers bounced back from a big defeat in Leicester to absolutely torch Cheshire on Sunday. Sherfield found the net 8 times from deep on his way to 29 points as Bristol took a huge 122-94 win up in the North West.

Keddy Johnson – Did a bit of everything in the Phoenix victory to outshine even Sherfield with an index of 30. His 24 points came on 10 of 16 shooting to go with 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals as the Flyers moved to 4-6 for the league season so far.

Demond Robinson – The forward has possibly been Bristol’s most consistent player this campaign with season averages of 13.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Went high in the dimes column with 8 against the ‘Nix to finish with 15 points and 5 boards.

Kendall Lewis – Has been hot off the boards for the Flyers this season but proved to be a deadly shooter up in Ellesmere Port. His 21 points came on a night where he missed only one shot inside and two from the line to go with 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.

Last Meeting

November 3rd 2024 – B. Braun Sheffield Sharks 102 Bristol Flyers 90

Shark Bites

The Sharks and the Flyers meet in the two-legged semi final of the SLB Cup having only once previously played each other in a non-Championship game. That was a one-leg Cup quarter final on 1st November 2019 in Sheffield where the Flyers won by 81-58.

The aggregate points total scored in the last 10 games played in Sheffield and in Bristol combined in Flyers 1509, Sharks 1512.

When the Sharks scored 102 points against Bristol in the only match-up so far this season, it was the first time either team had reached three figures in the 32 games played. The previous highest score, 96 by the Sharks on 16th April 2021, was achieved after overtime. The highest points total in a game ending after 40 minutes before this season was 92 by the Flyers in September 2018.

On both occasions that Coach Lyons has got the Sharks beyond the semi final stage of the Cup competition, they have gone on to lift the trophy.
