Super League Basketball Championship
Fancy a bit of nostalgia? Well, the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks are staging a big Heritage Celebration this coming Sunday. As well as the final game of regular season against Manchester Basketball, we’ll be welcoming back some of the Sharks of the 2000’s as we take a trip down memory lane. With fourth place nailed down in the league, Atiba and the guys will be looking for a momentum win before we head into the playoffs. And of course, all eyes will be focused on fifth place as we seek to find out who our quarter-final opponents will be. Hoops, nostalgia and the anticipation of post-season – it’s the most exciting time of the year in the basketball calendar. Unmissable!

Ones to Watch
Patrick Smith Jr – PJ starred for Manchester in their recent defeat to the champions London Lions. His 22 points came on 7 of 11 shooting with three big triples as well as a now-regulation 4 assists but could prevent a 5 point home loss.
Max Jones – Uncharacteristically went 0 of 8 from downtown in the London loss but still rallied for 15 points including a perfect 5 of 5 from the free throw line. Averages 17.4 points per game for the season.
Matthew Nicholson – Towering centre who put up a monster 11 point, 13 rebound double-double against the Lions but couldn’t stop the 86-91 defeat. There was a huge 7 offensive boards in that total and Nicholson drew 7 fouls on the night.
Jordan Johnson – A candidate for sixth man of the year due to the 14.1 points and 5.2 assists he’s putting up coming from the bench each week. 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists against London from just 25 minutes court time.

Shark Bites
The Sharks host Manchester on Sunday having won all six previous meetings between the franchises since the Sharks moved to the Canon Medical Arena.
This season will be the 4th consecutive campaign that the Sharks have finished regular season with a home game. Eight of the previous eleven seasons ended with an away game.
Manchester have provided the Sharks final day opposition three times previously. In 1999 – league title decider, then 2000 – lost after overtime and back to winning ways in 2001. The last day of the Championship season has seen the Sharks in 4 overtime games, losing the first three in 1998, 2000 and 2008 and beating Plymouth in 2024.
This season has seen the Sharks finish in the Top 4 in the league standings for a 22nd time. The other 10 Championship campaigns have seen the Sharks finish between 5th and 8th. Under Coach Lyons, the Sharks have made the Top 4 in 9 of his 18 seasons in charge.
