Super League Basketball Championship
The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks return after the international break with a trip over the Pennines to renew Roses rivalry with Manchester Basketball. The sides went 1-1 during the Trophy group stage and despite the Lancastrians having yet to claim a win in the Championship, their offensive prowess hasn’t gone unnoticed. The Sharks will be out to prove that their comprehensive and professional take-down of Leicester prior to the break was no one-off and that they are truly a force to be reckoned with in Super League this season.
Sunday – Mcr Basketball v Sharks – National Basketball Performance Centre – 3.00pm

Ones To Watch
Nathan Cayo – The big-scoring product of Canadian hoops shone once again in Manchester’s last outing against Bristol. He posted a team-high of 20 at the Flyers as well as pulling down 6 boards in the overtime loss.
Donovan Mitchell – A big double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds wasn’t quite enough to prevent Manchester going down by 92-85 in the extra five minutes last time out. Big physical presence who finds a variety of ways to score the ball.
Makai Ashton-Langford – Late arrival to the roster but has already established himself as a first-class facilitator with a useful shot. Finished with 14 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the South West.
Nicholas Lewis – Manchester skipper for the campaign but still very much fondly remembered in Sheffield for being part of the 2013 Trophy winning side. 21 minutes on court in Bristol last time out for an uncharacteristic solitary point but now a very wily veteran who can influence things in many different ways.

Shark Bites
Should the Sharks win in Manchester on Sunday, it will be Coach Atiba Lyons’ 300th Championship victory since taking on the role in September 2008.
Prentiss Nixon has converted his last 20 free throws.
The Sharks have played 9 games at the National Basketball Performance Centre with 4 wins and 5 losses in all competitions. Championship only games at the venue have seen the Sharks hold a slim 4 wins to 3 losses advantage.
Manchester were the only team the Sharks achieved a clean sweep of Championship victories against last season. The last 5 Championship games between Sheffield and Manchester have all resulted in wins for the Sharks.
