The B Braun Sharks are excited to announce their latest addition to the roster which comes in the form of 6’5 rookie guard Connor Cashaw.

Connor spent most of his collegiate career at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he spent one year with Sharks alumnus Max Guercy. In his sophomore year he helped his team achieve the most wins in Rice’s history with an average of 16 pts, 4 assists and 7 rebounds a game.

Cashaw transferred to a highly touted Creighton University in his senior year in the aim to play for a national championship. Although his role was limited having joined an established team, his contribution was highly regarded.

“Connor is a big scoring guard that will give us the ability to play different line-ups. He is a hard worker and eager to prove himself overseas,” said Coach Lyons. “Even as rookie he will bring leadership qualities and a desire to win that will help us in a tough BBL season.”

The Sharks have a steep history in Texas basketball as Cashaw joins fellow Texan, Mackey McKnight, for the 2019 /2020 season both following the path of BJ Holmes and Chris Alexander.

“I am very excited to get to Sheffield and play for a club with such a rich history. My mindset is on winning and doing whatever it takes to win a championship,” said Connor. “I’m looking forward to meeting the team and getting started in my first season as a pro.”

The Sharks pre-season is underway with the core of the team at Ponds Forge, the new home of the Sharks for the 2019/20 season. However, the first look Sharks will be back at the EISS in a pre season friendly against Newcastle Eagles on Sunday 15 September at 4.00pm.
