The B.Braun Sheffield Sharks are thrilled to announce the return for a third season of 6′ 7″ forward Robert Marsden.

A firm favourite of the club and fans, Marsden will return with unfinished business for the 2019/ 20 season. A native of Doncaster and therefore local to Sheffield and South Yorkshire, the forward enjoyed increasing success with the Sharks, who saw him average 14 points a game last season.

Although Marsden signed a two-year contract last year the club’s confirmation that he will be back has delighted head coach Atiba Lyons.

“I have said it before this guy works so hard. He is a true role model for the young guys coming through. His abilities are far beyond what he believes, which is his only downside.” joked Lyons.

Marsden will not be joined this season by fellow Doncastrian favourite Mathew Martin, who has taken the decision to return to the NBL with Danum Eagles.

“I’m thrilled to be back for another year.  I feel like we have unfinished business and with the adjustments coach has made I feel very optimistic” said Marsden. “I’m disappointed Matt (Martin) won’t be joining me again. He had a great year but sometimes life changes direction and we wish him well!” said Marsden.

Marsden becomes the Sharks fourth confirmed signing, joining Mike Tuck, Marko Backovic and Sedale Hanson-Young on the roster for the 2019-20 season.
